چکیده

The Monte Carlo simulations of pulsar periods, pulse-widths and magnetic inclination angles are performed. Using the available observational data sets we study a possible trial parent distribution functions by means of the KolmogorovSmirnov significance tests. We also use an additional condition that the numbers of generated interpulses, whether from both magnetic poles or from single pole, are at the observed levels. We conclude that the parent distribution function of magnetic inclination angles is neither flat nor cosine but it is a more complicated function with a local maximum near α = 25 and another weaker one near α = 90. The plausible distribution function of pulsar periods is represented by the gamma function. The beaming fraction describing the fraction of observable radio pulsars is about 0.12.

Unusual frequency dependence of the width of integrated profiles of millisecond pulsars

We have performed a comparative analysis of the frequency dependence of the profile widths of millisecond and normal pulsars. In this study we combine our 102 MHz observations with data at higher frequencies borrowed from the literature. We find that the profile width of millisecond pulsars remains nearly constant in the frequency range between 102 and 1400 MHz. This is in contrast with what is...

Radio Pulse Properties of the Millisecond Pulsar Psr J0437[4715. I. Observations at 20 Centimeters

We present a total of 48 minutes of observations of the nearby, bright millisecond pulsar PSR J0437[4715 taken at the Parkes Observatory in Australia. The data were obtained at a central radio frequency of 1380 MHz using a high-speed tape recorder that permitted coherent Nyquist sampling of 50 MHz of bandwidth in each of two polarizations. Using the high time resolution available from this volt...

High-resolution single-pulse studies of the Vela Pulsar

We present high-resolution multi-frequency single-pulse observations of the Vela pulsar, PSR B0833−45, aimed at studying micro-structure, phase-resolved intensity fluctuations and energy distributions at 1.41 and 2.30 GHz. We find micro-structure in about 80% of all pulses independent of observing frequency. The width of a micropulse seems to depend on its peak flux density, whilst quasi-period...
